1)
WHAT IS GRAPHOANALYSIS AND WHAT IS IT NOT?
Let’s answer the THREE most commonly asked questions about Graphoanalysis
a) What is Graphoanalysis?
Graphoanalysis is a scientific method of personality and character assessment based
on the study and evaluation of the individual strokes of handwriting.
Graphoanalysis is not occult in any way. It cannot foretell your future nor your
fortune. It is neither predictive nor therapeutic. It is an identification/evaluation
process, and is considered a discipline within the framework of psychology.
b) What is the difference between graphology and Graphoanalysis?
Graphology is the generic dictionary term for all kinds of handwriting analysis.
Graphoanalysis is the copyrighted system of handwriting analysis used by the International
Graphoanalysis Society (IGAS). Graphoanalysis is the only system of handwriting
analysis that (a) can produce any scientific data, (b) is sponsored by a
worldwide organization; and (c) whose practitioners are required to abide by a
strict or definitive
“Code of Ethics”.
c) How accurate is Graphoanalysis?
There have been significant positive correlations in comparisons of
Graphoanalysis assessments with results of psychological tests in common use.
Extensive testing has revealed that on the average, 88% of respondents found the
results were completely or highly accurate. It is important to understand that
Graphoanalysis meets the requirements of a social/behavioral science, such as
sociology, psychology, and medicine. It is not an exact science; for any science
that deals with human personalities cannot be exact...as opposed to the physical
sciences, such as math or physics.

2) WHAT
IS THE HISTORY OF GRAPHOANALYSIS?
Generic handwriting evaluation dates as far back as Aristotle and the 4th Century
Chinese. The first written treatise was recorded in 1622. In 1929, after more than
14 years of research, a gentleman by the name of Milton Bunker introduced the formal
science known today as Graphoanalysis. The science continues to evolve through on-going
research and documentation at the IGAS, as well as many universities worldwide.
Often called brainwriting, handwriting analysis has been recognized as a legitimate
psychological science, and in 1980 was placed in the Library of Congress under the
heading of "Personnel and Industrial Psychology".

3) HOW IS GRAPHOANALYSIS USED?
Applications for handwriting analysis lie in the areas of psychological and vocational
counseling, compatibility studies, credit risk analysis, questioned and forged documents,
jury selection and personnel selection. A 1976 Supreme Court decision found handwriting
analysis a “non-discriminatory basis” for personnel selection and promotion. (One
cannot detect age, gender, race, religion or national origin through handwriting
analysis.)

4) WHO USES GRAPHOANALYSIS?
Professionals in all fields related to the above applications have used Graphoanalysis
as a tool in their practices. For example: human resource directors, employment
agencies, attorneys, law enforcement agencies, courts of law, hospitals, psychologists,
psychotherapists, schools, teachers, parents; as well as individuals who wish to
better know themselves, make career choices, or improve personal relationships.

5) WHAT CAN GRAPHOANALYSIS REVEAL ABOUT THE WRITER?
We are reminded that handwriting is a picture of mental, not physical, traits. And
of all the ways we communicate, one of the simplest ways we reveal our personalities
may be through our own handwriting. A Graphoanalysis identifies and evaluates our
emotions, our mental processes, imagination, goal setting (determination/willpower),
ambition, fears, defenses, integrity, social traits and aptitudes.

6) WHAT
DOES YOUR SIGNATURE SAY ABOUT YOU?
Your handwriting reflects your personality - its true dimension in every
respect, but....your signature is your trademark. Wherever and whenever it apprears, your signature reveals you at your worst and
at your best. In your signature, you accentuate that
which you are inclined to be. Your signature represents you in business
and before the law. It is accepted even when your presence is not. Identification in the form of your signature is often required even when you,
yourself, appear in person.
